This was such a weird father's day. So atypical of what should happen. Both Matt and I were away from our fathers. We missed church, Matt worked the whole day, and I stayed home and cleaned. Then later we went out to eat with some family of mine that were on a summer vacation through the US. All we had with our dad's was a phone call. It doesn't seem right to just have a phone call on THEIR day. They have done so much for us throughout our lifes. I began to think, however, how lucky we are to actually have a dads. Many people don't know what its like to have a dad, a Godly rolemodel for their live's, a firm rock for their family. Another thought then entered, then why do we just celebrate our dads once a year? We should celebrate them everyday! Just because you grow up, get married, move out of the house doesn't mean you have to lose sight of what got you to where you are in the first place. I know I definitely couldn't have made it without my dad, and I owe who I am today largly because of him. I guess what i'm trying to say is don't just make one day a year a special day for your dad. Remind him often how much he means to you and how lucky you are to have him as YOUR dad. If you are one of those people I mentioned earlier, who doesn't have a dad, remember you have a HEAVENLY dad. He will always protect you, love you, and NEVER forsake you.
-Malachi 4:6 says, " He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers. " -
Here is my dad, how blessed I am!
